If you’ve ever played video games, you know what a cheat code is. They can give you power-ups, reveal the map, make your virtual army invincible, and more. Some are buried in games as a joke by the developers, some are bugs that were never found. Most of the time they make a game ridiculously easy for you, although sometimes they make it harder.
Life’s cheat codes might not be as easy to find, but they are there.
When I look around, I see that life’s cheat codes are there. My sister for example is the socially savvy, popular one. She doesn’t even have to think about it. She just knows how to make friends, like magic as far as I’m concerned. Like she has a cheat code for that part of life. Some people are blessed with a wealthy family. It seems like they couldn’t fail if they tried – no matter what they do, there will always be a parachute for them.
What else could be one of these “cheat codes”? Just about anything you can imagine. I think I’m very blessed with an ability to absorb information easily. I’ve hardly ever had to study in my life. Some people would call that unfair, just like it seems unfair to me that others can make friends and be well-liked without any effort.
I think we all have our own cheat codes in this game called life. Think about what yours are. They might not be the ones you wish you had, or the ones that are the easiest to use. But every one of us was given ours for a reason: they are all capable of helping us win the game.
