Remembering to Take the Time to be Mom

What stresses me the most is to have a huge list of “things to do” and not to be able to do them, just because you have a little sweetheart asking you to bake a cake or paint or play cars.

All moms on Earth know what I’m talking about.

You feel bad in both aspects: you need to conquer that list but you also want to make your little one happy and spend that precious time together.

What to do? Seriously, I’m borderline OCD and I need to have everything all nice and clean. But along the journey of motherhood, I’ve learned that the world doesn’t stop running for a pile of dishes in the sink, or a laundry awaiting your attendance. But, in that moment, the whole world stops for your baby, waiting for you to play.

So, my advice? In these situations, try and silence the little control freak in you (mine happens to be huge!). Don’t try and distract them with a video game or TV and walk just away, sit down with them, forget about everything, and enjoy time together. It will be awesome for them, and very relaxing for you.

Take a break, laugh, play, paint, calm down. Even have some chocolate for both of you, enjoy this time as a therapy for everyday life. It will give you new energy, and positive vibes.

If you let the stress take control of the situation, you will get overwhelmed and upset. You won’t do things right, and your little one will be so disappointed.

Sometimes, we get obsessed with an idea, with lists, work, and rushing throughout the day. The day by day grind makes us robots, switch on and switch off.

Life is too short. Your house won’t get out of control for having a break.

You’re an amazing mom, have a deep breath and just, enjoy your baby.

My work and soul are focused on visceral effort. On the hunger of something better. The freedom of discipline. The righteousness of honesty and humbleness. The intense power of bowing down. The abruptness of finding your way to a safe place. The peace when you finally find it. That’s why I work on motivation, inner inspiration and self-empowerment.
